It stops

A moment between the leopard and I
Feral instinct begins to overcome
She needs to eat, therefore I must die
As she prepares to pounce, I close my eyes
Muscles spring
The entire golden body flies through the thick, black air
Claws outstretched
Teeth glinting
As the talons sink into my skin.

Enemy

It will search for me in darkness,
Find me yet in light
As hiding then my soul shall lie
In places yet unright

To burst from dark confinement
Exploding to the sky
Bright young spirit, soul inspired
Then quickly I shall fly

Emerald eyes gaze for them not
As senses detect one
I've found my greater nemesis
My task is yet undone

To face the fear of darkened fears
Standing firm, alone
Festering still, the moving death
Emits a soulful moan

Inevitable that fate
Which all must face in time
I must wage mortal war against
This enemy of mine

One day we must accept defeat
The bony hands take hold
But later laugh it in the face
While in a palace of gold

Tonight I write

Tonight I write
Instead of bed
With restless thoughts within my head
Beg be released upon the page
With a fiery, furious rage
Sacred sleep doth visit not
The genius mind is drown'd in thought
For masterpiece doth lay in store
Behind a mind's lost hidden door
After all the words came right
She would turn to flick the light
Against inspiration one can fight
Only so long, then in the night
New doors fling open, new words bite
And again she turns on the light
Pen in hand
Ink to land
Upon the thirsty page.
