Wind Songs

Come, gentle flower
Tell a tale to me
I want to hear of the little birds
That drip like gold from the tree

Come, come happy cloud
Come and play with me
I want to dance among the stars
And soar across the sea

Come along, rushing wind
Sing a song for me
I want to sing of fields in bloom
And how he'd laugh with glee

Come with me, oh child of wonder
Come see what I have seen
We'll go where the wind songs take us
Where no one else has been

On the Other Side of Consciousness

There she sits all melancholy,
Speaking thoughts of senseless folly.
"Why won't they listen? They don't understand.
But their attention I still demand!"
All these things, this complex thought
Cannot be learnt, cannot be taught.
Can be understood by her alone
An excitement above life's boring drone.
So there she sits her mind elsewhere,
A-dreaming in her own school chair,
"She's rude enough to interrupt,
The teacher's mind must be corrupt!"

Stimulant

Sleep being broken
Shattered dreams
Fragments of which
Fleetingly seems
Gone from me now
To late to chase
The sharp rap on my door
I rub sleep from my face
Stumble out of bed
Soft and warm
Sluggishly half-dead
Too tired to mourn
Over lost visions
I search for the light
Shake myself awake
I yearn for the night
Dressed and drowsy
Scuffing to the pot
Pour a steamy cup
All else thought is naught
Slowly waking
Breaking my daze
Stimulant surges
Through my veiny maze
Opens my eyes
Tingles limb to limb
Sings to my taste buds
As I sip from the rim
Of my favorite mug
Breathing its heat
Now I am listening
So please repeat
