lacerations or broken bones. He glared at her as she lifted his eyelid and searched his eye for who-knows-what.
"Why do you aid me, girl?" he asked tiredly.
"Because no one should be alone." she responded simply. Then she held up the blue bottle.
"You need to drink this. Then, after you've had some sleep, you'll drink the red one. I don't know if it will be enough, you're very big."
He sighed again, defeated. She poured some bright blue potion into her cupped palm and held it out for him to lap. His massive tongue finished it off in one lick, and the rough comb-like hairs on it made her hand tingle wildly. Still, she poured another handful and let him lap again. They repeated this ritual till the potion was gone. She wiped her hand on the front of her shirt and nodded.
"Good. Now get some sleep. That will make you drowsy, and you need to sleep for it to work."
She waved her hand absently at the campfire and it went out. The puma rested his head on his paw, and jolted when he felt the girl curling up against his soft belly. She bunched up her bag to make a pillow and sighed, closing her eyes. The puma followed suite.
"What's your name, puma?" Saure asked him tiredly.
He considered this question for a moment. "... I don't have one. Not anymore."
"Alright, then." she said. "I'll call you Fred."
"Fred? Why Fred?"
But she either ignored him, or had dropped off to exhausted slumber, for she never said why.
